[ 17/07/2010 ] With the exhibition Peter Eisenman. A Cidade a new recourse is available for the Program of Guided Tours to the Works 2010. The exhibition has been designed by its curator, Manuel Blanco, as an Interpretation Center contributing towards a better understanding of the complexity and architectural values of the City of Culture of Galicia.
[ 00/00/0000 ] The firm Plaintec, based in Tui, has been awarded the Saint Gobain Trophy for its work at the Library of the City of Culture of Galicia. The prize was awarded in the category of laminated gypsum, the section where most countries competed, with a total of 22.
[ 26/05/2010 ] The City of Culture of Galicia took part in Brussels in the seminar "Culture as a driver for regional and local economic development". The event took place at the Committee of the Regions of the EU, and the project of Mount Gaiás was one of the experiences presented during a discussion among representatives of four prestigious European cultural centers: the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, the Bozar of Brussels, the CET of Budapest and the Manufaktura of Lodtz (Poland). The debate unraveled the keys to how the above projects have contributed to developing the cities where they're located and their surrounding regions.
[ 12/05/2010 ] The Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and the Foundation Cidade da Cultura de Galicia are discussing the implementation of cooperation projects in the field of artistic creation and cultural dissemination. After visiting the facilities at Mount Gaiás, the director of the institution based in Spain's capital city, Mr Juan Barja, expressed his interest in engaging in cooperation schemes to enhance and promote the activities carried out by both institutions.
[ 07/05/2010 ] The Foundation Cidade da Cultura de Galicia hosted a presentation yesterday with a lecture delivered by Peter Eisenman and a photographic exhibition, on the project of Mount Gaiás, at the Architectural Forum Aedes in Berlin, one of the most renowned international institutions for architecture and urban design. This forum, now focusing its attention on Galicia's City of Culture, has become consolidated in its three decades of existence as a successful plataform to make the works of the great names of modern architecture known: Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid or Thom Mayne, among other winners of the Pritzker Prize.
